Many years ago I worked in the office of a factory. Our tea breaks were regular and regimented – 10am, 12pm and 2pm. Being used to making myself a brew whenever I wanted I found this a bit strange. But once I got used to the new routine, it made a lot of sense. It ensured that 3 times each working day we stopped, stretched and walked around (or in the case of the guys in the factory, sat down). For 15 minutes we chatted, sipped our tea and played Scrabble, then it was back to focused work.
